In All Her Glory

In All Her Glory
12 x 12 x 1 Oil on wood
On Hold
©Deb Kirkeeide

Since it has been a long cool, rainy spring here, I had to make a trip to the local garden center for a peony fix. For some reason this painting reminds me of a beautiful woman in all her glory. The many layers and colors, subtle and bold textures - certainly all the elements that add to beauty.

This, along with several other paintngs,  is going to the Art of the Garden exhibition at the Minnetonka Center for the Arts. June 27 - August 1

Apple Lane By Joni Finnegan Minnesota Representational Oil Painter

Title: Apple Lane
this is the time of the year when garden catalogs arrive and we order our seeds and plants for the gardens. We plant them and nourish them with great hopes for the future Years disappear and suddenly they are grown. Apple Lane, years ago this was planted with great care and now it's a lovely apple orchard planted in the valley along side the river against a great rocky outcropping. The road to apple lane is sunkissed as the light travels across the grasses and wildflowers that aline the road. 24 x 30 Studio oil painting on linen created from reference my plein air painting. to view more of my art go to my website for information about this original or canvas giclees in varying sizes contact me directly

"Fruit Tart" by Jonathan Aller

"Fruit Tart"
6 x 6 in
Oil on Canvas Panel
Hi everyone first I wanted to let you guys know I'll be giving a demo on Wednesday, April 27 at Blick art material store in Edina.  If you'r around the area you should drop by I will be there from 1-4, this is for the 100th anniversary of being open.  There'll be live music and also great food, I might be to distracted to paint with all the food.
This is another attempt to paint these delicious treats, I had to do this one because of the kiwi's and strawberries mixed into the usual group.  The colors and textures made it so much fun to try to paint, its always great to push yourself and achieve textures you'r not familiar painting.  There's also a lot of subtle value shifts in the body of the fruit tart, its great practicing these techniques it sharpens your skills in many ways.  Needless to say I enjoyed every bite when completing the painting, it's always a great incentive to finish.

You can see the making of this painting on my blog:
